About Us
Kendo is a fast-paced and dynamic martial art that is practiced by millions of people in Japan, drawing its traditions and culture from the age of the samurai. Modern kendo has a rapidly growing international community, where practitioners focus on self-development and discipline through rigorous training with bamboo swords (shinai), while wearing protective armour (bōgu).
Tesshin Dojo offers weekly training for beginners and advanced practitioners, boasting a diverse community both in age, skill, and experience – led by a 6th Dan Sensei. We strive not only teaching “how to do”, but also “how to be”.
Kendo can be experienced and practiced on multiple levels making it an excellent path of self discovery for everyone. We gladly welcome visitors who are interested to spectate or try our practice.
Tesshin Dojo is a proud member of the Canadian Kendo Federation.
